Installation Guide
Important: KPI Cards Extension is a worksheet extension, which means it integrates directly into your worksheets and requires minimal setup compared to dashboard extensions.
Configure Tableau Server/Online
Before installing the extension, your Tableau Server administrator needs to allow it:
- Navigate to Settings → Extensions in your Tableau Server/Online
- Click "Add URL" and enter:

Get the Manifest File
Contact me to receive the KPI Cards Extension manifest file (.trex) - this is a secure connector that enables Tableau to verify and communicate with the extension web application.
Prepare Your Worksheet
- In your Tableau workbook, create a new worksheet
- Add a Date field to Columns (e.g., Order Date, Transaction Date)
- Add a Measure field to Rows (e.g., Sales, Profit, Quantity)
- The extension will automatically configure your data for optimal KPI display

Add Extension to Worksheet
- In your prepared worksheet, go to the Marks panel
- From the dropdown menu, select "Extension"
- Click "Choose an Extension"
- Select "Access Local Extensions" at the bottom
- Browse and select the KPI Cards Extension manifest file (.trex)
- The configuration window will open automatically
- Choose your preferred card layout and styling options
- Click Save
Once configured, KPI Cards Extension will transform your worksheet into beautiful, interactive KPI cards with automatic period comparisons, trend indicators, and professional styling.
